Hi, I'm Jonathan.
Founder · Glasgow, ScotlandI'm a recent graduate from the Univesity of Glasgow with a strong interest in building opportunities across borders.
I'm building Traina to help talented South African personal trainers connect with clients internationally through affordable, high-quality online coaching.
We're at an early stage and working closely with coaches as we build the platform. If you have any questions about the company, the vision, or how Traina works, I'd love to hear from you.

Is this a real company?
Yes. Traina is a new Scottish startup founded by Jonathan Dodd. We haven't launched yet; we're registering the company and building the platform now, with paying UK clients coming on in September. We'd rather tell you we're early than pretend we're not.
How will I get paid?
Coaches are paid in GBP for UK clients. Payouts are processed via Wise and deposited directly into your South African bank account in rand at the live exchange rate, with no hidden fees. Final details will be in your coach contract.
When do you launch?
September. That's when UK clients start booking. Founding coaches onboard in the weeks before launch so profiles are live on day one.
What does it cost me to apply?
Nothing. There is no application fee, no signup fee, and no charge to join the founding cohort. Once live, Traina takes a 20% platform fee from each session. That fee is published before you sign.
What happens to my application data?
It's only used to assess your application. We don't sell it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything else. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail and your rights under POPIA and UK GDPR.
